Google Basics for Teaching is a pilot intended for teachers in Brazil, India, Philippines and Russia. If you are not from one of those countries, please fill out this form, and we will inform you when Google Basics Training is available in your country.

Are there pre-requisites for the course?
For the best course experience we recommend a desktop or laptop computer with access to the internet, though you can use a tablet or other mobile device. A Google account is required and basic familiarity and comfort using a web browser is helpful. Knowledge of Google's products is not required.

What tools will we use?
Google Apps for Education with Classroom, Google Maps, Google Chrome, and much more. The tools presented in the course will help educators use technology in their classroom.

Who is this course intended for?
We are currently testing this course, therefore initially it is a pilot intended for teachers in Brazil, India, Philippines and Russia. If you are from any other country, technically you will still be able to register and go through the course to earn a certification.

Can I still take this course if I am not from one of the intended countries?
Technically, yes. You’re still able to register, go through the course and get a certification of completion. If you would like to be informed about future full releases of this course content worldwide (including your location) fill in the survey linked at the course registration page.

How much does the course cost?
The course is offered at no cost. All you need is a curious attitude and the desire to learn about integrating Google technology into your classroom.

What is the format of the course?
The course consists of text lessons, supplemental videos, practice activities, and a final project

How long will it take to complete the course?
The course is designed to be completed at your own pace. The course should take between 15-22 hours to complete.

How is this course different to the current resources in the learning centre?
This is a new format we are testing with teachers and the intent is to have more classroom application-oriented curricula and examples. The content covers many similar concepts to the Learning Centre.

How do I complete this course? Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
This is a self-paced course that you can access at any time. Course certificates are not currently available.

Does this course equip me with the knowledge for reaching a Basics Educator Level?
Currently this course explores the Basics Educator topicswith a few extra concepts that are useful for teachers to implement in the classroom. If you would like to get additional certification information please visit the Certification section of our Learning Centre.

Is it possible for me to view the course content after the course closes on December 20, 2014?
Yes. The course lessons and project can always be reached on this site. After December 20th, there will not be support from Google course staff and the forum will close on December 20th.

How do I print or save my certificate?
To print the certificate in Chrome, press Ctrl+P (Mac: ⌘-P). A window will open with print setting options. Select your printer or save as a PDF.
